they are smart till they finish their usefulness then become idiots who can't do basic investigations and confidentiality. Like Jodie, she was solving cases at a similar level to Conan but as soon as she gets outed as an FBI she becomes an idiot who frequently needs Conan to explains things that should be common sense in her work. I bet everyone gets instant intelligence boosts the moment Conan walks out the door.

it would have to be. i think Conan, Yuusaku, and Yukiko cooked up the whole 'Akai fakes his death' plan. but they didn't tell Akai. not until his Chevy burned up and bla bla bla. he and Kir probably figured it out right as she's about to shoot Akai in the head. the dead body found burned in Akai's Chevy is probably that Black Org. dude who shot himself in the head. then they disguised Akai as Subaru and somehow someway got Subaru stuck in that burning apartment case. since Conan thinks Amuro is actually Japanese Secret Police, they had to get Akai out of the Kudo mansion and replace him with either Yukiko (who's ALMOST as good at disguises as Vermouth) or Yuusaku who's an ok actor. since Yuusaku OR Yukiko are actually famous people around the world and in Japan. plus they're Japanese citizens, so 'Zero' can't arrest a Japanese citizen who's just sitting around their mansion wearing a disguise. i'm guessing Yuusaku is actually IN America presently. he needs to be in the audience and accept his 'Macademy Award' if he won. ;) or Yukiko could be in the US to accept it on behalf of her husband. the surgical mask Subaru is wearing is the voice changer mask Haibara used to disguise her voice when she was dolled up as Conan many many many episodes ago. she had to take Conan's place because Shinichi took the antidote and popped up. you can tell that's the mask because Subaru ALWAYS wears high neck collars to disguise the voice changer choker. this time he's got a loose necked collar shirt on.
